super bright (280 LED) light panels
http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G17973

They run on 24 volts @ 420 milliamps of power and they are real bright at 100 milliamps which is about 17 volts they glow a little

I bought two already and bought two more today

If want to buy some do not wait long because they had the same type a month or so ago those had 60 to 80 bad LED on the board for $18.00 they where gone in about two weeks I miss out on them

I could use some better lighting for my workbench. Since you have some, how would you say they compare to regular lighting as far as brightness? Would one panel be as bright as a 60 watt incandescent bulb?

They're usually as bright, if not (much) more so, but the way the lumens are calculated is different. A 60W bulb delivers about 800-900 lumens in a 360 degree circle. These put out that easily, but only unidirectionally.

From the picture, these are cool white LEDs, so the light will appear fairly cold. If you want a more natural color balance you'll need to add a filter over it.

For a bench worklight, I think a fluorescent tube lighting fixture may provide the best illumination. Those have decent efficiencies, too.

They are very bright close up maybe 3 to 4 feet away so if you have long work table you might need 3 or 4 of them to have good lighting
" A 60W bulb delivers about 800-900 lumens in a 360 degree circle. These put out that easily," but LED panels are very directionally down from the panel to the table

While you're ordering from the Goldmine, stock up on these 99-cent USB chargers, 5V, 500 mA. Probably good for powering many Stamp projects directly: http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G17336
