The 2017 August 21 eclipse will sweep across USA from west to east, from south central Oregon around Salem and back to sea just north of Charleston SC. The point of maximum duration will be in Western Kentucky near the north end of land-between the lakes national forest. That would be a nice place to to be. Plan ahead! NASA has a nice clickable zoomable map.
