I bought the PE 40-pin dip package a few days ago. Im pretty used to the stamp style books and really enjoyed them getting me started with the stamps. Is there any such book for props or do I basicly just have to read the syntax dry as a bone?

I also like "The Official Guide" (That's the subtitle, I don't remember the title off hand).
I have some other recommendations in post #3 of my index.
I just noticed I don't have a link to the book I just mentioned in the index. I'll add one shortly.

The book looks like it is still available here:

The reason that I mention that is that it has BASIC Stamp and Propeller examples, so you would have someting to look at for comparison.
Hope that helps.

Keep at it. There is a steep learning curve with the Propellor but you will quite soon be making your own coding projects. I have only just found the Fundamentals book - no idea why I missed it. I am finding it very helpful.

g3cwi: Thanks for the encouragment...ive got plenty of general programming experience and pretty descent circuitry skills....so on that note I may just be getn ants in my pants.
Duane: Really? From what I gathered the prop manual was nothing more than syntax...ill have to take a closer look at that then.
Version 1.2 doesn't have the tutorials and is just syntax but the earlier version had a beginning section that explained how to program the Propeller. I believe the thinking with version 1.2 was to expand the syntax part of the book and move the tutorial to a separate volume (PEK).
I thought the tutorials in v1.1 on the manual very helpful.
