Like the title says...
Do they get informed by the forum software, or do they just miss a lot of messages?

I think it just stops until we delete some messages. Its kind of funky to archive them to the PC, I usually loose a bunch till I figure it out. No biggie, just a periodic maintenance chore.

This is one reason I leave PMs disabled. Email works way better.

I don't see a place to leave an obvious email address in my profile, so if it happens again without my noticing, I'm perfectly happy to get email at "jeffledger" at that webmail email service that Google operates.

Check my profile. I put my email address in the "biography" section.

Ok, I tossed some. Hate that. I'll keep a closer watch on the thing. Thanks a bunch for the heads up.

I like the PM system because it highlights the message when I check in here. For Propeller related stuff, I like the focus on the forum. The e-mail address above is always good though.

Just a few days ago I received a message that my inbox (PM) was close to full. So I archived to my pc and deleted a lot. So, yes, I received a warning.

How do you archive the PMs to your PC? If they could be sent as individual emails that I could archive in my email folders, I'd be convinced to enable PMs. But one thing I do not need is an archive of PMs and another of emails.

Just noticed and tested the "Send Email" option under my username. Works perfectly. Added the email address to my biography section.

Likewise, OBC. I didn't realize that I had not enabled email from forumistas until I noticed that there was no "Send Email" link in my profile, forcing people to read the address from my biography and make the extra effort to do it by hand. (Hmm, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing.) Anyway, if someone sends an email via "Send Email" and you reply, where does it go?

It looks like it gives you two options.. One you can use a form link to reply, the second is the email address of the sender. Message follows.

I keep mine set to email a message when somebody responds to a thread I have posted to. You can also select threads you haven't posted to.

Got your last reply on 05-19-2012, I didn't see a question in there, so I just let it ride. Everyone who needs to poke me, feel free to send over an email at jeffledger (at that webmail service that Google operates) if I don't seem to respond. Sorry, I've been super busy with GG projects that I may have missed someone inadvertently. I tend to live and die by email, and try to remember to check the forums inbox at least once a day.

BTW, Ahle, I've got a nifty Midi board in the works.. Complete with stereo output, TV, and experimentation section. It should be a neat toy to play with SIDcog.
