Remote Control for IR Buddy

Several years ago I picked up a few of the 'ole IR Buddies, which Parallax used to sell. I'm looking for a remote control that uses the RC5 command set, so that I can use it to control my 'bots. Unfortunately, although I've accumulated many remotes through the years, none of the them seem to work, probably because they are not using Phillips RC5.

Does anyone know if the remote currently sold by Parallax:

would work with the IR Buddy? Does that remote send RC5 codes? Otherwise, is there another (cheap) remote that I can pick up on eBay or Amazon that uses RC5? I am looking for something simple, but unfortunately the product descriptions usually don't mention the command code set.

I know that Parallax sells an IR receiver to work with that remote, but I don't want to have to buy something new since I have a few IR Buddies lying around.

Dollar to doughnuts the Parallax remote uses the Sony SIRC protocol, not Philips RC-5. Info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RC-5

You can likely use a universal remote, available everywhere, including 99-cent stores. You may have to search a bit for the right code setting.

Contacted someone @ Parallax, and confirmed that the IR remote control that they now sell uses the Sony protocol, and not the Phillips RC5, as erco had suspected ... :-(
