Since I recently bought the Wacom Bamboo Connect, brand new, I have been wondering what you, the DIY / hobbyist and industrial folks use the Wacom pen tablets mostly for, like PCB, box / chassis design and / or CNC. I am going to use it for KiCAD PCB design (other than doodles), to design the hardware boards, maybe for the CNC too, eventually. I am curious, as well as it got lot of uses, other than just plainly drawing a smiley face. ( Ok, I am just being sarcastic about the smiley face part... :P )

Dr.Mario I used mine for awhile as a "Touch mouse" to operate Windows7 but it's now sitting on a shelf collecting dust, I need to find a use for it.

    EDIT: mine is a CTH-460

I don't have the Bamboo, I have the Wacom Graphics Tablet, I think it's about 150 years old now..

But I can't imagine any kind of image editing without my pressure sensitive pen, all the extra buttons (shift/ctrl/scrolling/ect..),
and the ultra smooth 5 button mouse it came with.

I spent a little time making the Hand writing software recognize my scrawl, takes some practice with a pressure
sensitive pen tip, I switched over to the harder tip, and that helped alot.

I use the Wacom Tablet anytime I use a drawing program like Gmax or Paint, sure, there is a learning curve, But I think it's worth the time and effort..:thumb:

I agree, using the pen tablet do comes with learning curve. :P I had to toy around with it, since I haven't used it for six years (I used it at my school) - sometimes it takes short time knowing your tablets, for the others, it takes a while. (my computer setup is dual-monitor, one for regular work and other one to monitor CPU temperature.)

And, Ttailspin, that I like my tablet about. I can also adjust the sensitivity of the pressure point on the pen (turned it to be much more softer to emulate a real pencil) for any of the pressure points in the sketchbook and / or image manipulation program (not sure if GIMP qualifies). I also tried doing the jobs in KiCAD - not too bad, but hey, it's better than a slice of bread. EDIT: O___O Do you mean the tablet with the LCD display in it?! If it is... I would be a bit amazed since this model of Wacom tablet is so expensive (I like this one but just wish I could be able to afford this one - few hundreds bucks a pop... Cintiq tablet here at newegg.com costs few grands.... -___-; Eeek...)
