Someday the Alpha forum may go away

Hi All,

I just wanted to mention that the Propeller-GCC P8x32a Alpha phase is coming to a close. It may be the case that as we enter Beta, this forum may be moved to a less prominent place or perhaps renamed. It is unclear at this time exactly what will happen.

It would be good to start new threads related to Propeller-GCC in the Propeller Chip Forum.

Thanks for all your help and support.

I would think it a good idea to maintain a GCC thread, because the nature of the kernel runtime, and the compiler. The people who have the desire and ability, which frequent the Propeller forum, will come here anyway.

We get a lot of newbies in the Propeller forum, and those newbies tend to chatter up the place until they get up to speed, in addition to the regular chatter.

My concern would be the SNR would be significantly skewed and not represent a skew based on technical complexity of a question.

We have enough traffic each day to spill off the main page, adding more to that will just drown some potentially important, but lower traffic posts.

What Perry said. I think there's enough traffic and GCC unique questions to merit a forum of its own. Plus it might benefit from its own set of stickies to supplement the Wiki pages (Is the Wiki still going to be around?).

Gigantic THANKS!!! to all the PropGCC developers who made the Alpha possible and supported u as we learned and played...I mean tested.

I've been a little scarce recently due to the twists and turns of Life. I am getting back into doing Prop-GCC soon and I agree with Perry to keep the thread separate.
