Do any of you has some experience with the Basic Stamp 2 Interpreter IC, Can I use it as a replacement for the Basic Stamp chip? What about the Gerber Files what are these used for?

The Technical Info about this chip is not very clear to me now.

Appreciate your comments about this.

Appreciate your input about this matter.

Thanks a lot Sirs.

The Gerber files enable customers to get a PCB made for the chip, presumably.

The Basic Stamp module is a small PCB designed to fit in a 24-pin 0.6" IC socket. On it is a specially programmed PIC microprocessor, EEPROM, +5V voltage regulator and a few other components. Parallax also sells the individual components for those that want to make their own PCBs. The Basic Stamp 2 Interpreter IC is just the specially programmed PIC microprocessor. You can use it functionally as a replacement for the Basic Stamp module, but you have to add the other components.

Here is a picture of a regular 24-pin BS2 module in front of a BS2 OEM board, which uses interpreter chip. The two are functionally equivalent. You can see the other components that are required in addition to the interpreter chip. The 24-pin module doesn't include the DB-9 serial port connector though.
