Since owning a boiler flask is illegal in Texas without a special permit and on-site inspection, this sort of thing might be illegal there, too.

Can't help thinking 3D printing is going to help seed all sorts of interesting businesses.
Its interesting to reflect on why "hobby level" 3D printing didn't take off earlier. From what I can see the technologies have been available for many years. Is it just the wide availability of 3D cad (sketchup, thingiverse etc) that caused it to suddenly take off?
'Everyone' knew that 3D printing was expensive, so nobody tried to build their own.
It just needed someone to realise that 'Hey, this shouldn't be that difficult to hack together'...
Me too. And I LIVE here! But then, Austin is different than most of the state (when the polilticians aren't in session here).
