Parallax's Expo Quad-Copter demo really impressive
The sky cleared late in the day yesterday and Parallax did a quad-copter demo.
What really surprised me the most is that they launched it right next to a big crowd of people, only about 15 feet away in all directions.
Either they have really, really good insurance, or very high degree of confidence...
Anyway, except for some apparent problems with the web video feed, it flew perfectly.
It was also much bigger than I expected. I was thinking these were tiny things, but it was really almost 3 feet across...
The rotors do look like they'd cause some pain if it crashed into somebody,
so still the most impressive thing is the confidence to launch it next to a crowd...

I was surprised by the size when my kit arrived...even when still sitting in pieces on your workbench waiting to be assembled (sorry, Ken & Matt!) it still seems big!
