Remote propeller control with WiFi module... at this point I have to learn Forth

I just received a RN-XV wifi module.
I already had Xbee stuff, so I simply used the Xbee USB adapter to configure it from the PC.
Then with an adapter board I placed it on a breadboard.
4 jumper wires from a propeller (3.3, gnd, and two pins for tx and rx).
I modified the proforth spin constants to set the righ pins for the serial interface, and in no time I have a propforth available from anywhere, linux and win with putty, or android with lunaterm or a similar terminal.
Access from the web after port forwarding on my router.
incredibly easy...
So now I have no more excuses... time to learn forth!!

Masochist!
Welcome to the (other) dark side!!
I have a pair of RN-XV's sitting on my desk waiting to be played with. Did you run into anything unusual or difficult in the configuration?
I may need to move then up on the priority list!
The configuration of the module from a teraterm was rather easy. If you configured a PC on a LAN you know the steps.
As usual better read the manual.... for instance the save command helps a lot... :-)
Another thing is encryption, the supported modes are limited. I had wpa2+tkip on my router, but it can accept either wpa+tkip or wpa2+aes
I'll post a config report with the minimal setup on the wireless forum.
The module can do a lot of things, but for a basic setup you need few parameters.

they will probably be great fun indeed..
If you have a terminal interface ready simply drop in the module, connect as adhoc (no setup required in this case), and use your PC as usual, or your phone...

Dave, not really, but I'm intrigued by forth, and having propforth running from a remote location in my terminal is really nice, considering also it can be done out of the box.
So the subject should have been "I delayed it for a long time, but this time it is too intriguing.."
Anyway the modules can work as a wireless substitute of a serial link, so anything using a serial terminal with a USB cable can be converted to a WiFi solution in no time.
