Replacement for ultrasonic ping sensor

I discovered boe-bot a few months ago and I like it very much.
Until now I bought many modules, like ping sensor, say-it, accelerometer and others.
However some modules (Bs2, tilt sensor and ping sensor) came defective.
I replaced Bs2 for a Bs2p beacuse I wanted more power which costed me a few dollars more.
The ping sensor works most of the time but sometimes it measures distance just up to 15 centimeters which is pretty annoying.
It is diffcult to buy thing from USA in Brazil and so I managed to find a ultra sonic sensor in my own city. This sensor has some deifferences but with some extra wires and a small 1k smd resistor, it becomes hw and sw compatible with parallax ping sensor.
I will try to buy a new parallax ping sensor in the future but for now this one works fine.
