Parallax Lunchtime ELEV-8 Fly-In

Today we had a special ELEV-8 lunchtime meeting at a vacant lot near Parallax. Complete with a bunch of pizza and soda, the flight crew stepped us through an amazing First-Person View (FPV) Wireless flight system. As Nick and Kevin set their quadcopters into the air and switched to the TV display their craft quickly flew a quarter mile away, far into the sky. The amount of terrain they were able to cover while flying over a video link was truly impressive - high-speed laps around the undeveloped office park land must have added up to several miles of flight in minutes. We also did a helium balloon competition and aerial combat with streamers attached to landing gear.
We had a few casualties, including the one in the video (to be uploaded later tonight). One was the result of a mid-air collision, causing an upside-down landing and extraction from the swamp.
Thank you to our customers for letting us close up shop for a couple of hours.

Still eagerly anticipating the videos

It's a pity other things keep getting in the way of my progress
The sheep have been sighted in the general Rocklin area. But they are not close. They are pretty smart sheep. The flying did have some red-winged blackbirds a bit confused, though.
