how to send signals from bs2 to tv

Hi,

A time ago I read IR remote for boe-bot. I like it very much.
Yesterday I thought wouldn't be nice to control the TV with your basic stamp.
So my question is is that possible is your basic stamp fast enough to send this pulse.
Currently I try with the bs2 and bs2px, but it didn't work.

Not without adding an external 38 khz oscillator, likely a 555 timer circuit.

You will need a little bit of external hardware. Re-read IR Remote for the BoeBot. The BS2 could generate some remote control signals (they're different for each TV manufacturer), but it needs to have the 38KHz carrier generated externally. It's not fast enough to do everything. There's a 38KHz carrier generator described near the back of the book using a 555 timer.

So in reading this PDF http://www.parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/prod/sic/WebIR-%20v1.1.pdf it sounds like the IR modulation scheme is a 38 KHz carrier pulse width modulated for either 0.6 or 1.2 ms for each bit?
