EDDIE: Power Requests response times

I'm finding that when I make SetDrivePower requests to Eddie, that it's taking around 170ms-250ms to receive a response back. I'm wondering if this is normal and expected. And because my application is sending requests more quickly than this, they seem to be stacking up, such that the responsiveness of the robot becomes sluggish.
I'm running the release version of RDS 4 and the Eddie RDS services (updated from Beta 2 last week). I don't recall having this issue on Beta 2, but it could be that I just didn't notice.
