OpenSource cell-phone with an arduino? Let's take a propeller-chip!

Hi,
I just visited the webpage of OpenSourceEcology http://opensourceecology.org/
OK Arduino is OpenSource - but much more limited than the propeller-chip. Let's try to convince them that the propeller-chip (and manufacturer parallax) is more OpenSource than Arduino and last but not least
the better choice for a controller.
I guess if we (the propeller-community) can't show up quickly with a working prototype the arduino will settle down as the mainstream OpenSource-controller though he has lower perfomance than the propeller-chip.
best regards
Stefan

Dr. Paul Gardner-Stephen happens to be working on open source cell phone mesh telephony in his Serval Project. We are planning to collaborate on a Kickstarter to produce an open source cell phone with a built-in Arduino. Outside of providing communication in areas without cell phone towers, such an open source cell phone will allow for control of CNC machines, CEB Presses, or other automation of GVCS tools as needed. Collaborate: a script writer and information architect for our Kickstarter campaign could help.
