I might be wrong but I think the magic figure is about 5 million dollars. Above that, most rags-to-riches primates suddenly experience a panic of sorts. The panic stems from the fact they have more money than they ever thought possible, and yet they are still the same dorky person with the same kinds of dorky problems. So, the obvious answer is that more money is needed to really effect a change. And when they get that next 5, 10, 15 million, they experience the same panic attack all over again. So obviously even that's not enough money. Nor is the first 100 million. Or the first billion. Or the second....

    Come on you guys.

    You're all nicer than this.

It's not unusual for a wealthy person not to want to take all the risk in a project themselves. I will agree that using KickStart is unusual.

It's also unusual for a computer game developer to bad at math (which (being bad at math) is required for playing the lottery).

Come on Duane, you're nicer than this.

Lottery winners do not have a reputation for being successful money managers.

Five million USD is about the minimum amount that you can get managed by a Swiss private bank and hide from the the US government.

It used to be enough to allow you to immigrate anywhere in the world, but the US government is now trying to tax people that want to leave the US with their money. That seems to indicate that the US government is a bit worried about the dollar. Buy gold, go gold mining, or just go broke and don't worry.
