I do not have a 9V battery but i have a wall connector to power up the board. I am afraid that the wall connector will destroy the board because it output more that 9V. should i wait till i get a 9V battery or can i use the power supply connected to the wall outlet.

    What voltage is the wall power supply?

    the power supply say 15-20V/5A

    The BoeBot is not designed for use at the voltage that your plug-in power supply will provide. If the servo motor power supply jumpers are set for use with Vdd (the output of the on-board voltage regulator), the BoeBot will probably not be harmed by your power supply, but there's no guarantee of that. At the very least, the BoeBot's voltage regulator will get very hot and turn itself off pretty quickly to prevent damage. Even a 9V power supply, although within the BoeBot's specification, is not a good choice. Best is to run the BoeBot off a 7.2V or 7.5V external power supply, either an AC power supply like the one available from Parallax or a battery pack of some sort. If you're using an 7.2V or 7.5V battery pack, you can change the servo jumpers so the servos are powered directly by the battery pack (Vin) and they'll have a bit more zip. If you do that with any power source greater than 7.5V, you may damage the servo motors.
