Our friends at First Spin ( http://www.firstspin.tv/ ) asked to let Parallax know if they should keep going with their podcast going.

I vote - YES!

Addie, Whisker and Roy are very entertaining and a great team for spreading the word of Spin. I've been doing this for a long time but still just picking up Spin. The podcast is very helpful to fill in the gaps in an entertaining manner.

Keep them going!!

I absolutely agree. I love the First Spin podcasts. They're great. I download them and listen to them at work or while I'm working out. Lots of little nuggets in there, even if you know most of it. I really like the concept of listening to people who have such an impact on the Prop world as well. It adds a voice to the posts you read from them. I believe it can have a very positive effect on the whole Prop community.

I am actually of the opinion that they should expand the heck out of this sort of thing. Make specific series of podcasts on some of the many, many possibilities Propellers bring to the table, even advanced topics such as video, counters, etc. I would listen to every one of them, even if I'm not interested in the topic. Just think of the kinds of topics that could be discussed. PIDs, Cordic math, Fouriers, Quadcopters, Robotics projects, even podcasts covering leading OBEX objects and addons like Femtobasic, Catalina, Propbasic, etc. I could go on and on.

You have literally thousands of topics in the form of OBEX contributions available on top of specific topics such as the Robotics, programming languages, etc. I would think every single product offered by Parallax could be the topic of a podcast, and a link could even be included with the download page for the product.

    Yes, FirstSpin should continue.

It supports the thriving Propeller development community and anything that does that is to everyone's benefit.

If anything my only criticism of First Spin is that it's not long enough. They should extend it to 1 hour per week in my opinion, half an hour is a bit limiting when discussions of complex and esoteric concepts are involved.

Other than that, I think it's brilliant that these three enthusiastic and interesting hackers can help out the community in such a big way. It's no simple task to do a podcast and so bravo to them!

    mindrobots,
I believe the problem is that your thread exists twice. Here is the second copy with the other two replies: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?137961-First-Spin-YES!!
Perhaps one of the moderators will help by merging the two?
    :) (The mods merged them.)

Also, thanks so much for your kind words and support of the podcast.

[EDIT: Ignore this stuff, it was a forum issue.

Thanks Roy for gathering my threads!

This is cool - this thread was created during the morning backup window. I hit "new thread" before the backup window started, typed in my original message during the backup window and then hit the button to post the thread.......and it waited and waited and waited......and finally completed and created the thread (or threads). I don't think I hit the "Post" button twice but I may have.

    END EDIT]

    @Roy:

You and Addie and Whisker deserve the kind words. You work and play well together on the podcast!

Not entirely sure who they're asking. Not sure why Parallax would object to them. If they're asking the user community if they're worth listening to and if they're educational and worth doing I think they are and look forward to listening to.

Definitely yes! There are all sorts of stuff like this for arduino. Propeller is a super awesome platform.

If anything, I can't wait for the P2's to come out so the P1's will drop further in price

We'd like to second what Roy's said and thank you for the support. I'm glad everyone enjoys listening as much as we enjoy making them! (this past week's had quite a few silly jokes :)). Please continue letting Parallax know what you think about it, whether any noobies have listened to it, and what they think about it!

And for those who read my long-winded posts :) Thanks! I'm starting to go through an xbee + propeller stint!
