My Monthly Joke Is Behind Schedule, So Here Goes Another Installment

A Stamp and a Propeller walk into to a bar and each pull up a stool. After several cognogs the friends begin to argue. The Propeller says to the Stamp, "You are such a BASIC thinker!" and the Stamp retorts, "Ahhh Just sit on a pin and SPIN".

Oh, I get it now. They couldn't agree because the Stamp and the Propeller INTERPRETED WORDs differently. :)

Some of your greatest humor is here.

You may need to author the book, "101 Propeller Jokes..."

Jokes are great, but if the moderators allow this non-tech stuff into what is supposed to be a technical forum, soon it will become as useless as so many other forums have become. Please, take the jokes elsewhere so we can keep this forum a clean resource for Propeller programmers.

Not that I agree with you completely, but any thread with the word JOKE in the title, should not be permitted to be indexed by the search engines. I spend a lot of time in this particular forum (kind of like a binary home base), as well as other forums here, and one thing that I have noticed is that jokes are rare. I cannot speak for you, but I am glad when a funny one comes along. However, I am not claiming my joke was funny. I would much rather see a good joke as compared to some of the negative comments that come forth, and those comments are much more prevalent.

I think the main issue is that it was posted in the wrong forum. It should be in the General Discussions forum.

They should be non-existent in the Propeller coding forum. As soon as you do it, and the moderators let it go, then others -- who may not be real participants in the forum -- think this practice is okay and suddenly, the forum is filled with Smile which tends to drive good people away. As Dave pointed out, there is a forum for non-tech stuff.

Honestly guys, the stuff that isn't directly Propeller related really doesn't belong here, it should be in "General".

I'm actually surprised moderators haven't already moved this thread..

To ensure that everyone understands that moderators are in agreement with Jon's statement, I have MOVed this thread to the appropriate forum......."General Discussion"

To ensure that everyone understands. On a 99.9999% basis, I try my best to help when I can, I try to put my posts in the appropriate place, I try to be as informative as I can, and I try to provide valid documentation whenever I can. To say the least, I believe that I am a fair contributor to these forums and I have been a forum member here since 12-19-2005. I personally believe that several of my threads have been unfairly targeted. If I cannot tell an occassional joke about a Propeller in the Propeller forum, then I truly believe that some of you folks have some serious issues.

I agree with the "Jokes for jokes sake in the Discussion Threads" group.

...and I'm not picking on you, I unfairly target everyone!!

    @idbruce,

It's not that we are humor impaired, (at least I'm pretty sure I'm not), it's that the Propeller forum is pretty much the only "official" forum for the Propeller, professional developers, and hobbyists. The churn rate of the Propeller forum is already really high, so Jon's concern is legitimate. Besides, all of us who read the Propeller forum also read General. Last I checked, chatter & jokes are welcome there.

You see it your way and I see it mine. That is approximately 7 threads of mine that have either been moved or locked. And personally I don't like it. If heavy hitting is going to be targeted at me, how do you think I will respond?

I will leave it open to the imagination.

Dropping a stupid joke into an otherwise usefull or interesting post as you go is one thing but starting a whole thread dedicated to one is a bit over the top and a waste of space and peoples time.
After 7 repremands even I might start to think the problem lies with myself.

It would take at least ten for me; but, even then, I might find someone else to blame.

If there is place for the 1000 times asked same question there should be place for a good joke. Especially when showing how wording can be misunderstood when not seen in context. Every forum depends on members contributing and in this thread we had some people discovering what was behind, taking care to what to say to whom. A computer never does what you intend him to do, but what you tell him to do. A man is different. So this was nothing but another dry to test the turing test. Not shaked.

Bruce knows that good natured humor is an important and necessary part of life. Even in the technical world where humanoid robots are emerging, their association and relationships with humans will necessitate humor. Humor is known to release stress and create psychological balance and positive energy with laughter. Can you name a friend who you think could lighten up? Though there are no "humor chips" yet available off the shelf, its up to the techies to program their contents. Humanoids are currently made from processor chips - some include the Propeller. Perhaps there are people in this forum working on projects leading to use and implementation of Humor Subroutines.

the first Propeller Humor Chip is being developed (no joke..)

As a side note, I would just wonder how much web site traffic my obscure posts and content drives to the Parallax web site and as a result of that traffic, how much of it results in revenue by the visitors sticking around and purchasing something. The internet is built on content, not by cry babies.

For instance, do a search on "laser" + "diodes" + "CD" within Google. Parallax is not mentioned until a thread I started pops on the third page. Which means it is ranking pretty darn high within the search engines. Why you ask? Because I provide content, instead of all the whining and complaining that I could do if I was so inclined.

EDIT: My fault, page 2 of Google

Is this still part of the joke?
