hi

How can I Increase the distance between the ultrasonic sensor and the B.Stamp 2 ?

I will need about 100 feet of cable between the ultrasonic sensor and the B.Stamp 2

Do you know how can I do this ?

All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks, Mark

A possible way would be to have an ultrasonic sensor that is connected via I2C, and use a couple of I2C extender chips to bridge the distance from the sensor to the Basic Stamp. Of course you would need to be using the "P" versions of the Basic Stamp for the I2C commands.

Or you could try something like this... :)

    Hi,

Do you know if it is possible to reduce baud rates to 2400 instaed 9600 is better for long distances.
And do you know if a very thick wire is better instead of a narrow wire.
Or a wire with some kind of mesh could reduce interference ?

    Thanks , Mark

    Q1: I do not know.
Q2: A thicker wire will have a lower impedance than a thinner one.
Q3: A shielded cable would reduce interference, but some interference will always get through. (Chaos-Making a New Science by James Gleick)
