New Prop Motor Driver Board

Here is something I built recently. It is designed for my dual purpose CNC/Pick and Place machine. The Pic and Place uses the Prop as the step and direction generation, with USB input from a PC based app. The CNC runs off a parallel port, Mach3. A SPDT toggles each of 4 motors between USB and Parallel control. There are 4 mosfets for controlling vacuum, tape advance, spindle (via solid state relay), etc.

Anyways, you might notice that this board is using the new invisible Prop.

Is that a Prop II installed on your board?

When you put a Propeller chip in the midst of a housing project, you should expect that sort of thing :)

Very nice looking board, but WOW those connectors sure are tall. Are they a special type of connector?

Not really that tall, I think it is an optical illusion. Phoenix type.

Today I will place an order from Itead for my Quad Stepper Board for the Quickstart.
Can be mounted above or below the board (or with wires used with any board)

4 steppers or 8 bi-directional brushed motors. (2 Amp peak each winding)
Current control with 0.1 to 1ohm Resistors.
    12bit ADC 4channels.
    Video out.
I will created a new post when this item will be available for sale (about 3weeks)

    Cool

Why not add a dual N-FET to control the heating elements of a 3D printer, and some digital inputs with pullups for limiting-switches? Then a Quickstart and this board is all you need to drive such a 3D printer.

What driver chips do you use?
