Deleting Threads

I'm I right in assuming if a post hasn't received any replies, it can be deleted?

I've found when I wanted to delete a post I could use "Go Advanced" and then use the "Delete Post" option. For some reason this wouldn't work when unless I used "Go Advanced".

I'm going to test this in the test forum right now.

I think the General Forum is the only one wth the "Chatter" option. Right?

It turns out I was wrong about being able to delete a thread.

There wasn't an option to delete this post when I tried.

I know moderators can delete threads though.

Even if you don't wait, you can't delete the thread. That gets pretty annoying when you find yourself in one of those "Oh, Smile! I posted in the wrong forum!" moments.

I vaguely remember a discussion on this. I thought the we could delete threads that we created that had not been replied to. I know we could sometime in the past. I cannot find a way to delete a thread I just started in the test forum.

I see the logic behind not deleting once someone has replied but I can't think of a reason for barring us from deleting our own thread when it consists of one single post.

I know for certain that I have deleted posts to existing threads in the past (prior to any replies). I'm not sure if I ever deleted a new thread that I created, but I think I have. It seems you can't do either anymore and I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to do both.

You can still delete a post, as long as it's not the first one in the thread. In any event, the one person at Parallax who could change this (Bump) is busy with other stuff, so I would not expect action on it anytime soon.
