Ken, is the 2012 Propeller Expo an overnight event ?
On the ticket website is says until 10:00pm.
I could probably attend if I didn't need to pay for a hotel.

UPEW is part of the larger event.. We'll be using Suite 200 as always, but will welcome all.

There is no reason why an attendee couldn't offer their room for the night for some quiet, midnight hacking.. It'll have to be someone who would already be participating and is attending solo.

Okay, now I'm confused...
Is the Propeller expo in April 2012 the UPEW or is UPEW on a different date ?
It's UPEW that I would like to attend if it is an overnight event.
And what is the "larger event" ?

UPEW will be a part of it. So will our National Robotics Week events.
Hours are:
10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. PST on Friday, April 13th
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. PST on Saturday, April 14th.
Cheers, Jen J.

@all: want me to look into getting all UPEWers a mini conference room at Staybridge so we can stay up to chat?

Yes, thank you Ken!
I need to figure out my trip for that week+. I'll be driving up to Rocklin (or maybe Red Bluff) on Tuesday, April 10, and be travelling all over the place up there for a week+. Should be fun!
Also, if you need help from me for the Expo, just let me know (since I'll be around the area).

Thanks Ken, I just have to clear it with the boss (wife). I am up for an all-nighter too...

Ken:
That would be great. A room like that has worked pretty well at UPEC.
I haven't made it out to UPEW in the past. Have people been able to coordinate rides to/from airports, etc., or has it pretty much been everyone for themselves?
Parallax UPEW group left a very positive impression at StayBridge during our last couple of events and they remember the guests to be courteous, considerate and as all-around great customers. The sales manager tells me that they would be willing to comp the room to us (provide it for free) if we have a solid booking for UPEW. We'd have the room on Friday and Saturday nights, with tables, chairs, projectors and power. The room holds 40-50 people. There's a reason this hotel has such positive reviews on the internet - they've got the service formula figured out.
All I need to do is ask Lauren to check back in with them on how our booking is working out, and the space will be ours.

We draw a bunch of children at the UPENE events these days.. (I think I counted 13 last year) -- I know the boyscouts are planning to be present, and I can't help but think that this event will draw quite a few young people. (Ken? Are you listening?
