Source for 2mm connector ?

I have a GPS board whose on-board connector is a male 2x10 header at 2mm spacing. I have been trying to find a reasonable (and secure, due to vibrations) way to plug into it but for the life of me I cannot find an easy to use female 2mm pitch connector. I have found housings which one can use to crimp your own but the crimping tool is $500.

I have found various bits and pieces but some things aren't in stock, others have high minimum orders etc. For example, digikey has ready-made female-female cable assemblies that would work (i.e., part # SAM8536-ND, or SAM8537-ND) but none of the whole series are in stock. They also have 2mm cable ribbon sockets but no 2mm cable, and so on.

I can crimp individual wires with heat shrink around them and plug them one at a time but I was hoping to find an IDC connector/cable combination that I can plug straight in; I can then crimp the other side for mounting on .1" headers, but I will need to find these darn 2mm 20position female connectors!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated --

If those are Samtec connectors, one of the Samtec distributors should be able to make up cable assemblies for you.

It's an IDC type connector. The specific crimping tool is usually around $15-20, but I've used channel-lock pliers in the past with no problem, a vise would also probably work.

DigiKey's cable assemblies are made to order -- usually same-day if you order early enough. That's probably why they show a non-stock situation.

Hum... Think 2mm is the same as a PATA Laptop hard drive connector. Could use a Laptop to regular IDE adapter or grab 2 Xbee (ten pins each ) connectors from here. http://www.sparkfun.com/search/results?term=2mm+xbee&what=products
