Eddie meets Hero One
I am pleased to report that after successfully assembling and testing, Eddie has become a resident of InfoAge, a Science & History Learning Center in Wall Township, NJ. InfoAge is located in the Marconi Hotel on the historic Camp Evans site. The attached image shows our Eddie being greeted by the current resident robot, Hero One.
Of course, this is a staged image, since the Hero robot is not functioning at this time. One of the objectives of IX-NJ, a maker space recently established at InfoAge is to get the Hero functioning, in addition to developing different versions of Eddie. While the Kinect is shown attached to Eddie, there is no computer on the platform. Our initial goals are to operate Eddie using a XBee wireless controller as well as explore the potential of different Kinect hacks.
FYI InfoAge is open to the public on Sunday afternoons. We would welcome any propeller enthusiasts who are in the area to join us in working with Eddie.
