BS2 not identified by PC

Hello All-
I've searched for an answer to this multiple times with no luck. I apologize if this was posted and solved before. It seems like a very easy question, but I can't seem to find the answer.
My wife bought me the BS2 starter kit, and I've followed the directions to connect to my laptop (Running Vista 64). I downloaded the FTDI drivers, and everything looks fine. Then I go to identify the BS2 module. Device type is blank, version is blank, loopback and echo are both yes. I've tried all the different USB serial ports, but no luck. Lights are on the serial to USB adapter, and it looks like it's reading, but it can't find anything. I'm really at a loss.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Regards,
Victor

How are you powering the BS2; 9V battery or power supply?
Is this the kit you have?

Hi Mike-
Thanks,
I'm powering via 9V battery. I'm looking for a P/S in my house that will work, but have yet to find one.
Thanks in advance.
Thank you. The power switch was on 0. Switched it to 1, and we're all good. Ironically enough, the book has the switch at 0 when identifying it.
Thanks!
Victor
