My wife is not into micros.(I really wished she was)
'
She does not want any cleaning appliance(house work items)

We need some background. Is she into gardening, reading, travel, nature, science, exercise, sports or outdoor activities? Does she like to like to get dressy, jewelry maybe? Does she collect knives, or reload her own ammo ;).

Or, offer her a coupon book of things she can ask of you - massage, house cleaning, bed making, weeding (if gardening is her thing), or trips to whereever.

There you go Walt, the gift that keeps on giving :)

I'm not married, so allow me to speak with great authority. :)

Rule 1: People are so accustomed to, "It's better to give than to receive", that the joy of giving often trumps that of receiving.

So you might consider giving the gift of giving, as long she receives a tangible benefit, too. For example, if your wife has any close female friends, give her a session for two (her and a friend) at a fancy day spa. She not only gets to enjoy the spa, but gets to share your largesse with someone else. (They will probably gossip about their husbands while sipping Cosmopolitans and relaxing under their eye-cucumbers -- or whatever the heck goes on at those places -- but that's okay.)

Also, in view of Rule 1, be sure to express the utmost appreciation for whatever she gives you. Such appreciation could possibly be your greatest gift of all.

    Gifts to avoid:
    • Gym memberships, workout tapes, other self-improvement stuff. (Is there something wrong with the way I am?)
    • Flowers, candy, expensive jewelry. (Something must be going on behind my back.)
    • Home appliances. (I feel like a domestic slave.)
    • Tools, electronic gizmos. (He just gives me what he wants.) (The exception might be a Kindle. A friend of mine recently gave his SO one, and she loves it.)
    • Books and music, unless you're really in tune with her tastes. (I guess I really should read/listen to it, since it was a gift -- someday.)
    Good luck!

    -Dr. Phil

Caveat: Like that other Dr. Phil, I really have no idea what I'm talking about!

I just bought my wife her xmas present. I was even asleep when I bought it, paid for it, etc. Yes its exactly her size, she loves the colors and will wear them regularly.

Guess that what happens after almost 32 years of blissful marriage.

Now, what is she going to buy me while she sleeps... prop chips, stepper motors....???

I should think she would want a new soldering iron, chainsaw, Craftsman English/metric socket wrench set, table saw, box of Omaha T-bone steaks, or a big box of candy.

If you need any other marriage advice, I am happy to help!

Note: I am not married if that matters?

I just bought a flannel PJ set from Victoria Secret for $39 and free slippers. It should come in in time for Christmas. I think that will be a good gift :)

Most women, especially my wife love chocolate so I bought a 32pc assortment including cute little mice from Burdick Chocolate. It's supposed to be some of the best in the world and should arrive by Christmas as well. It was $35 I think.

It's a little risque, but it makes a great how-to manual:

That obviously belongs in the fiction section, or maybe even with the fairy tales.

I have only been married for 4 years now, but I would have to say either :

Smell good stuff... Perfumes, soaps, etc. Be sure not to put it as "You stink, here use these" :P
Shoes. Not sure why...my wife loves shoes.
Walmart Gift Cards. People really under estimate the power of Walmart gift cards!

I am sure there is more, but I am a poor guy so I have to stay on the low end of the budget. Another thing I do is watch TV with my wife and listen for her to say "Ooo, That's nice".

Bath powder in her favorite scent. You can get Channel #5 or whatever, but women seem to love to use and not buy it because they go through it so quickly. And it isn't a high priced item. You can buy it again every year as a stocking stuffer.

I can't believe Parallax Forums has come to this.

Got her that Nook I posted about: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?136692-75-Nook-Simple-Touch-2-GB

She's a daily Bible-reading gal, and I hope this "app" is faster than flipping through her well-worn pages: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/niv-bible-tecarta-inc/1103486725?ean=2940043353719&itm=2&usri=bible

Long term, is it better to kill trees or electrons to read the Good Book? :)

You can't go wrong with any of these suggestions, just stay clear of the "FOREVER LAZY":

  • I think you can take her on beautiful candle light dinner and gift a beautiful dress.

A few years ago for Xmas, I bought my wife a new iPhone and she bought me an iPad Mini. She tells me the iPad is great to read all those eBooks, and she loves her new iPhone too :(

Ah, but you don't kill electrons, you just move them around. Much better than killing a tree.
