If financing that car and you have good credit, I figure the payments would be about $90,395.60 a month.
Then how would someone who had that kind of money pay for that? I can't imagine anyone leaving $4.62 million cash sitting around in a bank account! Rather they would have the money in investments. And then it takes 3 days to sell those investments and the money to "clear".
Hopefully they didn't plan to drive it home. You know, once you leave the lot, those cars really depreciate!
I'm assuming it went to a museum or amazing private collection of some rich guy. For instance, Jay Leno has a huge stable of cars and pays dearly each month to fuel his hobby.
Years ago, I had a red '64 2-door. 'Twas a neat little car. Gas mileage was great and it simply shrugged off the Minnesota winters. Snowdrift ahead? Psshht... shift to low and pedal to the metal.
Sadly, she had a bearing (of some sort) in the back that started making some dreadful sounds. Being in the military and quite poor, I decided to forego repairs and got a sweet '65 Mustang convertible to replace her. :-{
OOOHHH, please do not EVEN tempt me with Corvair thoughts right now, Amanda. There's a beautiful '65 for sale right near me. I am resisting serious temptation to check it out. It's nicer than my first car in the garage will ever be!

He even has a Corvair in his collection of much fancier cars! http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/at-the-garage/classics/1966-chevrolet-corvair-corsa/

If someone buys my pristine unbuilt Heathkit HW-9 for $4000, I can get this car with a clear conscience.
