LOL, I have always pronounced robot as "row-baht", but the narrator does offer an entirely different option...
It is an older video, maybe I have been pronouncing it wrong this whole time...

Thanks, erco! I had one of those as a kid. I remember taking it apart to see what made it talk. IIRC, it was a small plastic record with a needle connected to a diaphragm "speaker."

Lots of movies from the 50s use the same pronunciation for robot. Seems that by the 60s they used "row-bawt."

You tell me: at 0:17 what does it look like the machinist said? It sure doesn't look like, "Ah, I have a neat idea!"

Reading his lips looks like he might have used the "F-word" to me.

All pronounciation & words from the 1950s are debatable. At 0:13 they call a Bridgeport mill a "remote control machine".

Seems more like he's "right there" turning the feed cranks.

The main interest for me was seeing Lionel Weintraub at the beginning. I worked for his son Richie for many years.

Was this when it was still Ideal, or after their sales to other corporate masters?

Top 10 Ideal product lines: Zeroids. Classic stuff.

Yes, RtR was made by Ideal in their heyday. Check this timeline of the company, which got its start by making the first "Teddy" bears based on Teddy Roosevelt: http://www.luckybears.com/encyclopaedia_ideal.asp Shows Lionel Weintraub joining & becoming president.
