Inappropriate clipping

Hi,
I am running v2.02, and see some strange clipping when I change the vertical voltage on CH1.
I am reading a signal of 1.5 V at 20ms. It displays correctly when the step is 1V.
But when I change to 0.5 V steps, the signal displays correctly for a moment, then is clipped to less than 1V, with the red bar showing. The scale should have enough room as it goes to 2.5 V, and even manages to display correctly for a fraction of a second.
I experienced this earlier today with a reading of 1.1 V as well.
I also noticed that a pair of dotted horizontal lines appear at +/- 0.97 V. Does this indicate that the range is limited to this in 0.5 V and 0.2 V modes? That would be an annoyance, especially since the vertical scale still indicates +/- 2.5 V which wastes a lot of space.
Am I doing something wrong?
