Over the last couple of years there had a been a terrific Holiday Giveaway thread 'running'.

I'm currently having a rummage and thought I would start the list this year (unless I've already missed it in my travels - apologies).

In the spirit of the [insert your appropriate reason for celebrating], I offer free postage within Australia and _might_ ask for postage to OS countries

Soooooooo "lets get ready to rummage....."

Stuff I'm offering..

Connectors – Cuttler Hammer Proconnect – CH1D30E12P (2 plugs and two sockets)
Switches – Allen Bradley 802T-HTP Limit switches (4)
Loop Controller – Eurotherm “B07/L1/T1/0/AZFC110”
PLC – Allen Bradley “SLC 5/02” - think the battery is stuffed on it.. .
Thermostats - Jaeger 0301 (20 -140 C selectable) Old tech, dials and a 10cm long K(?) type thermocouple. they look a _bit_ like these units http://www.sintebros.com.sg/product.php?ProdID=62 but brass.
SEL-2886 - 232 to 485 converter http://www.selinc.com/SEL-2886/
Moxa IMC-21-M-ST-FL copper to SM fibre convertor.
Belkin F5D6020 PCMCIA wireless card (one unit only)
Radiolinx "RLX-FHE-AU" Frequency hopping Ether/Radio converter (one unit only)
Allen Bradley 1492-Cable010H
Symantec pcAnywhere 12.1 (unopened in large cardboard 'envelope' - there is a CD in there but what else?) legitimate copy
Broadcom BCM94306MP laptop wireless card
Lexmark 20S0063 cartridges (for E210 model laser printer)

    More to follow.

    Hello!
As it happens I am interested these things:
    =pacman;1056343]
PLC – Allen Bradley “SLC 5/02” - think the battery is stuffed on it..
    SEL-2886 - 232 to 485 converters http://www.selinc.com/SEL-2886/

By that term I believe you mean the battery has passed the point of being useful.

Please contact me via PM so I can provide my address in the US for you.

    Greetings all -

Many thanks for the proto board & accessory kit, Ken!!!

In the spirit of the holiday, now that I got a present, I'm "paying it forward" - everything is FREE.

1 Dallas (Maxim) DS1270AB 2mbit nonvolatile SRAM. EDIP packaging.. Expensive chip that I got as a sample from Maxim, couldn't get it to work for me--so first come, first served, AS-IS.

    10 MicroChip 25AA1024 1mbit (128Kb) EEPROMs. DIP-8. Never used, I think.
    5 Motorola 74HC153 Dual 4-input multiplexer. DIP-16.
    6 Motorola HC157A. SOIC-16.
    2 TI 5940 LED driver. DIP-28.

3 SOIC-8 to DIP-8 adapter boards. The pads are actually too small for me to use for SOIC-8 chips, but are probably ok for someone who can actually solder and doesn't have to squint :).

I'll pay shipping to USA. Other countries, let me know and we can work it out.

Free stuff, free shipping! What a deal!

And my personal stash offering for the 2011 Holiday Giveaway. I would like to clean out a few items from my home office, putting them in in the hands of a new owner. First come, first serve, anywhere in the world USPS only except for the second lot:

    (1) Propeller ASC by Martin Hodge. With the introduction of PropGCC and the Arduino libraries I've seen on this forum you can make a Propeller behave the same way. This board was given to us by Martin for evaluation and I want it to go to somebody who can put it to productive use or share with a younger individual.

    (1) PropProto Board USB + Prop Proto Board Accessory Pack. New in bag, all original. No strings attached.

    (1) Box of CCFLs + inverters. About 20 CCFLs with a handful of inverters. Apply 12V and light up the world - but be aware of disposal regulations for these tubes. Includes some red, green, blue, white tubes. Domestic only on this one. . . sorry.

    (1) SpinStudio through-hole DIY kit. Vintage, all original kit from one of the early Propeller adopters (http://www.ucontroller.com/). Will include the SD socket kit, too. Great solder and programming project.

First requests to kgracey@parallax.com that include shipping information will take the goods - limit one request per. But one request please, grant me some freedom with the e-mail load. I ask that I only confirm the winners via e-mail and respectfully wish for your support to forgo replies after the goods are claimed, saving me the non-winner confirmations.

    Sincerely,

    Ken Gracey

Let's see, what do I have.....
1 - Giant 7 Segment display, single digit
1 - 5X8 Duel Color LED matrix (red and green)
1 - 40 pin Programming socket (Not sure what it's called, it's like a DIP socket only with a little lever for release of the chip)
2 - Large LED digits with 1 and +- signs.
4 - 25 pin parallel port female connectors

PLUS 1 BONUS PRIZE - If you can guess what it is, you get it for free! HINTS: It is considered monetarily valuable. It is made by Parallax.
1 guess per person, guesses must be sent via PM, so other people cannot make deductive decisions based on other guesses.

I'll update this list if I find some more stuff. Thanks for starting this giveaway again!

I also have a large quantity (about 1,000) amber colored LEDs I'd be willing to give away.

Sorry folks, These two are gone. I'll have to go rummaging for more stuff, not only is this fun but it's the most cleaning I've done in the shop for a while!!

To keep the Holiday giving going and since I've had my chance to receive (thanks DoggieDoc), I now need to give.

Two items one is a goodie if you're into Basic Stamps

#1) **CLAIMED** a BASIC Stamp rev C. Serial Board of Education with a BS2 (rev C) module plugged into it. I just fired up the basic stamp editor and ran some code and it worked perfectly.

#2) **CLAIMED** a collectors item: The controller board from a TRaCY robot kit. (TRaCY is The Robot Club of Yahoo). I built the board from a kit a long time ago (2000?) and it worked fine the last time it was asked to do anything. It's BASIC Stamp based, has a serial port, IR LEDs and a sensor on the front, left and right motor ports and 8 other ports brought out to pins. If you hunt with Google, you can find some info but I don't have any links handy. The chips are all socketed, so at least there's some salvage value there.

Only one item per customer, free shipping in US only, first PM with a request for an item and shipping info, gets the item.

I'll see if I can find any other interesting items needing new homes!

    Merry Christmas and good luck!!

(Hope my wife doesn't find out about this or there may be all kinds of stuff up for relocation!!)

It's a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket.

    I have

1 IOGear Bluetooth 2.1 USB Micro Adapter
1 Plantronics Explorer 210 bluetooth headset W/ Charger ( I opened it to see its inner workings, it still works and looks fine)

Both go together and will be shipped Thursday within the US only, Both work well together. I lost the CD's when I moved but that shouldn't be a problem. Both bought new at RadioShack about a year ago and were used about 5 times. Earpiece cleaned thoroughly with alchohol, not that it needed it. first PM with shipping info gets it.

EDIT: Added an additional item, shipped seperately, below:

    2 - TCA6424A _ I2C 24bit IO Expander IC's (UQFN)

I originally bought 3 chips but melted one when I attempted to solder some magnet-wire leads to it. I didn't touch these two, they are simply too small for me to work with. I will ship this within the US in a standard sized envelope with some padding.

A little bit strange here, replying to my own post... but I don't know any other way to get this thread back on the first page... all of my items are now free including free shipping to the USA.

My apologies if this is in violation of forum rules.

    Thanks,

    Walter
