The iPhone is a USB client that requires a USB host, like a desktop or laptop computer, to be recognized. The iPhone can't act like a USB host. It doesn't have the necessary USB drivers in its operating system. The USB2SER is also a USB client. The only way to interface the two would be to use a WiFi interface of some sort that supports the Telnet protocol. There's a free application from Mochasoft called Telnet Lite that will act as a serial terminal on one end of a Telnet connection.
