Began going through the Smart Sensors and Applications exercises today. After starting to build the circuits, I thought something a bit more substantial was needed to assemble everything.

Went through the spare plastic stock and "junk box" and came up with this mini-lab. Based on the USB Homework board and the 2x16 serial LCD.

Set up right now for the Ping rangefinder. The Memsic 2125 accelerometer is on the breadboard from that exercise.

    ...nice looking kit!

Via the Thanksgiving sale, I bought a PIR, PING))), and a 2X16 LCD, so my own experiments will begin shortly.

Nice job on the assembly, Amanda. It's so much more fun to work with electronics if you can isolate out problems with a good setup. Also prevents the "thrashing around" of loose wires or a wandering cat, not to mention you'll be proud of the accomplishment. At least that's how I look at it.

I always tell our tech guys to never tear apart their projects, but to get more parts from inventory instead.
