Hello, everyone.
I have problem with my new hydra kit. I flowed the instructions in manual for setup and connected everything. I connected Hydra to monitor and tried to turn it on and nothing happened. Even the power led's did not flash. Tried to reset and turn it on and off. I checked all connections, and instructions in manual. Could it be the monitors fault that hydra dose not power on?

Hi Volt! Welcome to the Parallax Forums!

What power adapter are you using? Be sure it's 9 to 12 volts DC and a center positive plug. Or if you are using batteries, check output of the pack to make sure you are getting enough voltage. Do you have volt meter?

    Check the crystal.

I checked the crystal as instructed and it's ok.
I am using the Europe version ~230V AC to 9V DC. I measured voltage on adapter, its 8.9V, but when i plug it in the board and measure it on pins where power connector is soldered to board there is no voltage at all.

One of several things is wrong:

    1) The plug on your AC adapter is defective so that, with the pressure from the socket, the connection breaks.

    2) The socket on the Hydra board is defective.

    3) The solder connection from the socket to the board is bad (maybe there's a short)

If you have another 7V to 12V AC adapter or can borrow one, try that. Make sure that the polarity of the adapter is correct.

Problem is solved. You were right, the tip of the adapter is removable and originally the polarities were switched.
Thank you so much for helping.

Oh, and one more thing, now hydra power led is on, but no signal to LCD monitor.
Do i need drivers for that?

What monitor are you connecting the Hydra to? You can use either a standard VGA monitor with the 15-pin connector or you can use a standard composite NTSC monitor. I believe you may be able to use PAL as well.

The important thing to remember is that the Propeller code is generating the video signals and it is only going to generate the one that is loaded in your code. Most of the Hydra games I've seen use the composite video signal. If you plug in a VGA monitor yo won't get anything on the screen.

Yes, I am using VGA monitor.
Ill try to find a game code that is generating a signal for VGA monitor.
    Thank you again. :)

IIRC you have to flip a switch (VGA Enable) on the board to enable the buffer circuit which connects the prop to the VGA socket.
