SFR08 multi echo reading problem

Hello everyone,
I point SFR08 sensor to two objects within 2 meter ranges. The first bounce reading from closer object is correct, however, the second echo from far object is always jumping a bit, and the value is larger than the actual distance.
Does anyone know what went wrong and how to get the correct multiple readings? Thanks.

Is it in ANN mode (Artificial Neural Network) or normal ranging mode?

You might need to change the range or the gain to correct the readings.

Are you sure the second reading is coming from your second object? Is there anything at the distance of you second reading? Things like the corner of the room or where the wall meets the ceiling make excellent reflectors. If you remove your second object does the reading go away? Is it possible you are seeing a reflection off the ground instead of a direct reflection from your second object?
