low power display

Does anyone know of an ultra-low-power color LCD type display around 2.4" +/-?

The color display I'm using now works great. It's a Newhaven TFT 2.4" 320x240 pixels. But it uses more than 50 ma when the backlights are turned on. I'm using it in a battery powered device, so this is too much.

I found a somewhat similar monochrome display that uses less than 2 ma. It's an LCD type, without a backlight.

Are there any similar displays available in color?

Thank you for your help.

Jim

Try ebay or craigs list and look for either garmin or the other one for old defective or castoff gps; hikers type, not car dash types. Find out which ones were color and could work w/out backlight or were fairly good on power. May be only monochrome works w/o backlight but I don't know for sure.

Maybe you could also search for OLED displays in this size/resolution. Especially for dark backgrounds these save a lot of energy compared to LCD.
