Whenever I paste text, anywhere in the body of the post being composed, it forces the page jump to the bottom. This is consistent with different computers, different browsers and different country locations. The same thing happens when composing a private message.

I don't experience that behavior at all, either in the quick reply box or the advanced page. But I use only the simple text editor, not the one with the fancy toolbar. Perhaps you could try that route if the fancy editor is causing you grief.

The simple text editor has no attachment manager and lacks the extra formatting features which are convenient to use. As photos are brought into the advanced editor, that's where the edit takes place. In this case it appears there is no icon for going back to the simple editor.

These double spaces never happened before so something is fouled up. Perhaps it would be better to fix the source as it seems to be one of the several new problems happening recently with the forum. I really can't see how this is happening just to me in two countries and 3 cities with 3 computers and 3 different browsers. That's really the magic double space, the magic jump, and the magic backup.

Yes, it (not to be confused with the Quick Reply editor) does. I use it all the time. Just click Go Advanced, and it's there.

Where are you seeing double spaces? I don't see them in your posts, except between paragraphs. Can you post a screenshot?

I'm not saying the updated software is without its flaws. There are still some issues that desperately need to be fixed. It's just that I haven't experienced the ones that you mention.
