Infrared Temperature - Discontinued

I was disappointed to see that the MLX90614 Infrared Thermometer Module (10° FOV) was discontinued. I needed to add a sensor to an existing project to check the temperature of a spinning shaft.

Any suggestions on how do measure the temp without contact ? Would positioning a AD592 Temperature Probe close to the shaft give me a meaningful result.

Are there workable replacements for the MLX90614 ?

Oh wait.... I guess what you want is a module.

It looks like somebody figured out a way to hook up an Arduino to the raw part, so if they can do that, I'm sure anything is possible.
