I'm trying to build an automatic whiteboard eraser using a 24v dc motor, BS2 microcontroller and Motor mind B. The load is going to be approximately 20 lbs. The motor is 24V 1.07A DC gear motor with 28 in-lbs of torque. Will it be safe to connect to Motor mind B?

    Hi Phil,

    welcome to the forums. You might want to elaborate on what you mean by a load of 20 lbs. Did you mean 20 inch-pounds or....???

    I meant that the system that the motor will be driving is approximately 20 lbs (conservative estimation) . Since I'll be using a 2-in diameter pinion, I guess the load can be 20 in-lbs. I read that having a dc motor drive too heavy of a load can send high spikes of current back to motor mind B, which can be hazardous. I was just wondering if anyone can provide insight from their personal experience with using Motor mind B.
