Basic Stamp Not Responding

On my Mac, I am trying to run my Basic Stamp programs. The tokenizer says "Serial Port Detected but not responding, check power." Nothing works, the power is fine. Nothing works, please help.

    Make sure you have the proper MacOS driver for whatever USB serial adapter you're using. If you have a Parallax USB Board of Education (like in a BOE-BOT), the built-in adapter uses an FTDI chip. You'll have to download and install the FTDI VCP (Virtual COMM Port) driver from FTDI's website (www.ftdichip.com?)

    Check that your serial or USB cable works ok and double check that there's power to the Stamp. You would be amazed at the number of "Basic Stamp Not Responding" situations where the serial connection or power supply is the problem.
