Hello,
Assuming local filtered power, How long a cable can I use before transmission line effects will start to cause error in a distance reading? Basically I want to use the sensor remotely (talking 4 to 6 feet of wire). I can provide filter caps and inductor so that the dc supply remains stable during high current draw. The wire i have is ether shielded 22 awg or RG-174. I do have an o-scope so i can play around with termination impedance. The target environment should not have any EMF above normal background (ie its not car mounted) Any thoughts?
thank you for your time.

I'm not sure what the maximum length is, but I think I've used a 10' cable before.
Let's get Chris to chime in on this one - his middle name is "ping"...
Chris?
