Now.... just what am I going to do with these things?!?

About a week or two ago, I saw this page in the Parallax classifieds for someone who was selling off a lot of their Parallax goodies on eBay. I started looking through the things and saw 2 HB-25 motor controllers, priced at $50 each, going for a mere $65 for the pair. I'd always had trouble building my own H-bridge circuits, so I thought I would bid on them, thinking that I would probably not win the auction that low. Well, I DID win the auction, and now I have 2 HB-25 motor controllers sitting here on my desk, and I am wondering what I should use them for, and with. A new robot maybe? Does anyone have any project suggestions, and maybe a source for low-priced motors and wheels? I have some necessary things to take care of in the next month or 2 (college applications, bleh. I'm having to write about 8 essays total + filling out bio information :P ) so I probably won't get to the project until after that is finished, but I still like to have some ideas to build on.

Thanks,
Microcontrolled

Lucky you, the HB-25 is really a rugged H-bridge and can handle some rather solid motors.

Many moons ago, Ken build a robotic cart that used a gasoline engine directly powering an automotive alternator to drive two electric motors for drive wheels. There was a 3rd wheel for support.

That would be an excellent platform using the HB-25s. And you would have rather limitless 12VDC electric power for other uses. It could be a lighting cart or a mule for 12V tools and so on.

@Loopy Byteloose: That sounds really cool! Do you happen to have a link to a project page, or similar? I would like to see some specs on that, just out of curiosity.
