Old mobile screen used as TV?

Hi all
I have a couple of touch screen mobile phones lying around here - both Samsung and not worth anything but with nice big full screens.

How complicated (or even possible) is it to convert them to be slave monitors for my in-car head unit? Basically needs a single AV input to the screen.
Doesn't need any controls or touch screen - purely used as a monitor.

Never hacked a mobile before, so its all shiney and new to me.

Thanks
Steve

How complicated, you ask? Very, very, VERY complicated. If you need actual AV input you will even have to build a board with a high-speed microcontroller to encode and decode the video for you, which will be very hard to do. You will also need the datasheet to the display, which most cell companies don't give up very easily. If you simply wanted a microcontroller (such as the Propeller) to communicate to the display, you would need the datasheet and you would have to write your own object, in assembly, to communicate with it. If you are up to a challenge that will take a lot of time, go for it. If you are looking for a quick fix, than just forget it.

Mmm... kinda figured it might be super complicated!
Seems a shame to waste these lovely touch screens however
