Hi all
I bought the Propeller starter kit. Read through the book.... Mmmm
I know stamp programming pretty well, but this looks far more complicated than I thought.
Is there a better 'starter' book than the book that comes with the Propeller kit that teaches you a bit more 'step by step' ?
Thanks
Steve

I recommend following the Propeller Education Kit Labs.

Steve2381, there's some very friendly Parallax style documentation in progress right now around our Propeller BOE. This will be released at the same time as the PropBOE, currently planned around the time your winter evenings start to set in - early December. Also, we'll be releasing some documentation for our RadioShack customers too. We should see that in the next week. I agree about reading the PE Kit labs in the meantime, too.

Hello Steve - I have found these tutorials to be very beginner friendly too. Hang in there there's plenty of good advice around the forums too.

Scan these forums and try to solve the problems others post. It's a great way to learn using an issue that is not under your own skin.

I'm a big fan of JonnyMac's SpinZone articles.

The articles really helped when I was trying to learn PASM.

Thanks for all the advice guys.
Hopefully with all this to reference from, I can get going. I know the basics, but found the jump from Basic stamp to Propeller a bit more of a jump than I had expected.

I built this years ago using a stamp ..

If I had a Propeller back then... oh so much easier!!

    Steve2381,

Nice video and good looking design. Yes, wouldn't a Prop help ease that design. Thanks to referencing that project.

The "Official Guide" is a good place to start.

I was intimidated by what seemed complex at first too, but I didn't realize how much easier it was to write spin code until I actually wrote my own code. It's as easy or easier to get a grasp on spin that it was to program the stamps in my opinion. OBEX has a bunch of good examples that helped me understand spin.

    I agree as well.

Another cool thing about spin is, that it is method based, which makes the programming alot easier.
