Thanks. I have looked at all these sites. I am looking for guidance in mounting a bare crystal in my diy tapered plastic through-hull fitting. Besides being waterproof, what electrical and acoustical requirement do I need to adhere to before committing to part "B"? I have all of the other stuff, sounder head, boat and tapered hole - filled at this time.

what exactly are you talking about? What is part B, for example? I'm guessing this is not a product that Parallax sells, so perhaps you have an internet link to this?

Sorry. I was talking about potting the crystal in my through-hull fitting with epoxy i.e. part "A" and part "B", and no Parallax does not sell this product. Thanks for your help anyway.

I would guess the answer to that is "more than you do now" but without any other information I don't think we can help much. Perhaps a boating forum ?
