I'm really close on an upgrade of ViewPort:
- improved editor- with full highlighting for PropBasic- including "Propeller Tool" alternating background colors for sections of code and indent guides
- improved conduit- with support for Xbee and Bluetooth- as well as native support for full terminal support
- support for Mac and Linux- here's a screenshot of ViewPort running on Ubuntu:
@Hanno: If it does colour print-outs too I'll buy it as soon as you're selling it! Looks seriously good. Getting the best of PropBASIC and ViewPort will be PropHeaven
I'm starting to beta test the latest- including Linux. Let me know if you want to help test.
Simon- you can already "copy and paste" into Word/OpenOffice and unlike Propeller Tool- the highlighting will be retained. See screenshot.
I'm thinking how a free editor/compiler/loader could work- I need to make sure I can support users well.

ViewPort for Linux is now in beta testing- I'll open it up publicly as soon as it's "good enough". I'll announce that on a separate thread.
I've sent Bean the latest Win version- hopefully we'll soon have high speed terminal support in PropBasic- with all the goodies: relative and absolute cursor positioning, editing, dec/hex/bin/str input and output.
Hi Sandfire,
Bean has added lots of good stuff to PropBasic making it much easier to view/edit variables, stream video, and do terminal io.
I'm getting close to releasing my big update
I haven't seen any concrete information about the Prop2, so I can't speculate on how much effort it would take. Am looking forward to getting information and ideally an actual device when they have it.

Anything you would like to see?

I'm also still working on "something big"

That's great Hanno!
Thanks for the screenshots
I am really looking forward to the release.
I'm going insane trying to figure out what it is!
Maybe a new optimizing compiler for PropBASIC?!?
Perhaps an awesome new feature for Viewport that does......?!?
Anyway, you don't need to say anything.
I'm a programmer too, and I know that you'll be done, when you're done.
It looks like a will say goodbye to my long favored EditPlus3 IDE!
Cheers, Friedrich
Any thoughts about making a "free" version of viewport with just the basics.
Then it could be the "official" IDE for PropBasic.
The great thing about ViewPort is that I can update the PropBasic compiler and just post the new version.

I could spend some time helping to test the new version, especially interested in the Linux version also.
Let me know!
Thanks
Bob
I would also like to help test the linux version.
I could help test the win7 (64bit) version.

How is the Viewport/PropBASIC integration coming. I have not heard anything about it in the forums for a while now.
Also, how is the the "something big" coming? Can you talk about it now?
Lastly, how long do you estimate that it will take to get Viewport/PropBASIC up to speed on the new Prop 2 once it comes out?
