Not Parallax, not even electronic, just cool. Nice to see a purely genius mechanical "app" to make techno music a la Blue Man Group.

Hey, what if we added servos to each drum head, wirelessly linked to a Propeller servo controller, then digitized and filtered each tubes audio output. Using ring modulation, we could generate holophonic stereo sound. Multiple enhancements using hifi, bluetooth, X-bee, Zigbee are just a matter of time...

    Very cool. How about adding an electronically-controlled slider to change the effective length of the tubes to adjust the pitch? The musician can then control the pitch with feet, pressure blowing into a mouthpiece, tapping a sensor with a drumstick or whatever.

    I built a couple of these, (with less tubes), for a few museums and pre-schools. They are very rugged and hold up quite well with kids banging on them.
