I ordered one and started putting together some of Jazzed's TetraProp boards. I also built some memory modules like these but designed to plug into the TetraProp board. The new 256KByte modules are stackable. I can now connect a full MegaByte of SRAM to the Prop with an 8-bit data bus. This should be enough to store a 640 x 480 image (up to 24 bits per pixel).
I still need to figure out how to display this image. I think I'll initially display a lower resolution version on a TV monitor. I'd like to figure out how to display the image on one of Rayman's 4.3" touchscreens. Even if I can't display the high resolution image, I think it would be useful for finding colors and hopefully shapes in an image.
I'd rather keep all the image processing on the Propellers and not use a PC to display an image or otherwise process the image.
I think this may be the problem I've been looking for that would benefit from multiple Propellers working together.
I'll probably be posting pictures of some of what I've been doing soon. (Likely in a different thread.)
There are other ways of using the Propeller with a camera. Have you seen Phil's latest?
I've used Hanno's method of capturing an image from a video camera in this thread.
These last two examples capture black and white images but the could capture color images by using color filters like Phil did here.
Phil also has other Prop Cam projects.
I know several other forum members have been working on projects of using a camera with a Propeller.
Thanks for these excellent links. It looks like things are moving right along with the propeller-camera. I have a prop chip being dedicated to rocket flight and the idea is to have only one chip do all the required functions, including aerial photography.
