I am sure this question has been answered hundreds of times and is probably somewhere obvious on Parallax's website, but I'm in a hurry. Is there a copyright on this picture from parallax.com of the Boe-bot?

If you want to use the image for a project why not send them an e-mail or call them if it is urgent to ask permission.

As a photographer who has had his images used without permission, please ask.

A quick email or phone call asking to use any image and explaining how you intend to use it can make all the difference.

I always ask for a link or copy of the item the image was used on to make sure it wasn't used out of context or in inappropriate manner. Even though you allowed someone to use an image, you still own it unless you've given away those rights.

Attribution is always nice, too! (give someone credit for their work or use of their image).

At the bottom of parallax.com it says...

    "Copyright 2011 by Parallax Inc."

I would think that means everything on the web site?

    (Best to ask permission...)

Yes. Please always respect our copyright on our product photographs. In addition to his work in manufacturing, Rich Allred has been taking wonderful product photographs for over 10 years. He spoils us with his precision and attention to detail. His work deserves to be recognized. :)

A good credit to use would be:

    Thank you.
    Cheers, Jen J.

    There you go electrodude -
The Lady with the Chainsaw has spoken ;-)

Just out of curiosity, what's your application for the photo?
    Thanks!

Nothing says "Copyright" like a chainsaw!

Hee. I fear my choice of avatar makes me look far more dangerous than I actually am!
I should get a cute kitty avatar too. :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat:

Jen - your recent avatar cavalcade has consisted of both a chainsaw and an axe. Once, I could understand - but twice? hmmm...

I submit that your avatar is the reason I'm in the South quadrant of Parallaxia, while you're in the North ;-)
